Miniachairs

I've been meaning to share these pics from when my son & I visited the Grand Rapids Public Museum during his spring break. Behold Chairmania! Seeing this exhibit made me want to be the size of Tinkerbell so I could try some of these seats out! Which one is your favorite? Can you spot Cherry from Peewee's Playhouse? Found myself wanting to invest in a doll house afterward too. How fun would it be to decorate a little doll house with tiny furniture like this? Am I too old for one? Probably. :p IMG_2130 IMG_2133 IMG_2137 IMG_2145 IMG_2141 IMG_2140 IMG_2139 IMG_2138

Girl With The Flower

This is Zoe. I first saw her on the front page of Etsy, and developed an instant girl crush when I visited her colorful shop, GirlWithTheFlower.

I love those bright flowery hair pieces & bold lipstick hues! The first creation with the bird below is my absolute favorite. Major WANT.

You can find more of this spunky gal on Twitter, Etsy, and Blogger.

Marilyn and MAYBE You

Most often, I like to channel my inner Joan Jett or Kate Pierson, (2 of many fashion idols) but after watching the Marilyn movie, I found myself more curious than ever about the icon's sense of style.

With a little imagination, (and some red lipstick, fabulous mascara, and an amazing hair stylist) these dresses will help you channel your inner Marilyn! What's more, all of these vintage pieces are on Etsy! Thank me later, darlings. xo

P.s. That sexy little metallic gold number is only $50!! Please someone grab it up before I'm tempted to!

Film Festival, 50 years!

Of the few nights that I make it a point to go out during the year, opening night of the film festival makes the top of the list! This was a pretty special year because it marked the festival's 50th anniversary. Dressing up is a must for the first night, and you better believe it's one of my favorite parts of the celebration! There's also an amazing spread of hors d'oeuvres and what seems to be an endless well of flowing champagne. Of course I took advantage of these things. ;) I wanted to snap many photos of the marvelous outfits of the night, but time was limited, and I was lucky enough that my friend was able to snap one of the beaded 1920's dress I'd been holding onto for the evening. (sorry so grainy, it was taken on instagram). Sooo many compliments on that dress! I was utterly delighted to talk vintage with other fashion lovin' gals there!

I'm not a film maker by any means, but I did have digital video classes some years ago and enjoyed making little movies a great deal. I would LOVE to get back into it one day, when time allows. (we'll see!)

My favorite film of all was Irma, you can read about it here. It ended up getting an award too!

The place was packed!

My dress!

Does your town/city have a film festival? Do you go? I wanna hear about it! The best one I've ever been to was the Montreal World Film Fest, can't wait to go back one day!

Gone for the week!

Remember how fun it was to be off from school for a week during Spring Vacation? For the first time in a LONG TIME my son has the same spring break as his cousins, and today we're heading up north for a week-long stay with my parents in the country. I've been looking forward to this since the beginning of the year!! :)

It's very important to me that Lukas gets this time, not only with my niece & nephew, but with my parents as well. We've been planning a few fun mid-Michigan activities, but I think it will just be nice to have some quality family time because we don't all get to see each other very often.

I'm also going to try to hit up a few of my favorite antique stores for shop goodies -- pretty excited about that!

Just wanted to give a little heads up because I will be sending some pics/messages to my twitter, but won't be able to tweet back right away ( no, I don't have a smart phone yet!) or get back to shop messages ASAP, as my parents do not have the internet. (yes, they live in the middle of nowhere, deepinnahearta the boonies!) It's super peaceful, I just hope the weather is nice, because I want to help my dad start his garden. Pics to come!

SO:: shop purchases made from today through next Sunday will be shipped the following Monday, April 9th.

"See" you back in the WWW soon, friends!

Have a wonderful week! -- Jessica

Love these kids sooo much. Childhood is infinitely special!

Mostly Pink

My eyes are leading me to pink this season! Besides red & black, it's probably the 3rd most popular color in the shop on a regular basis. Rearranging the listings yesterday, and I cannot believe how many black pieces I buy. Time to brighten up the shop for SPRING, though. Enjoy!
